Project detail / iOS game
CyloStack
A 2.5D iOS stacking game that turns a compact arcade idea into a secure, release-ready product.
The brief
Make the game instantly understandable, satisfying across 25 modes, and dependable enough that scores and configuration can be trusted beyond the client.
What shaped the build
The engineering is part of the game.
01
A simple rule with real replayability
The core interaction is one gesture: stop a moving disc and build upward. The game keeps that interaction legible, then makes the challenge evolve through two coupled difficulty controls and separate personal bests for each mode.
02
Security designed around the actual threat
A secret placed in a mobile binary can be extracted. Instead, CyloStack uses Apple App Attest: a key created in the Secure Enclave, a one-time server challenge, and an assertion for requests. The server validates the attestation chain rather than trusting a string from the app.
03
Remote control without a risky release cycle
Release gating and configuration live behind a Cloudflare Worker. Responses are encrypted with AES-256-GCM and requests are signed with HMAC-SHA256 and a freshness window, giving the service a deliberate boundary for changing behaviour outside the app bundle.
